Microsoft Cuts Price for Xbox 360 in Australia

Starting today, August 15 2007, Microsoft will cut its famous console Xbox 360’s prices also in Australia. After only a week since the company has announced its dropping the price of the Xbox 360 in the United States, Australia’s gamers will also start enjoying the significant cut of prices for the company’s gaming consoles.

Microsoft really seems to have created a very wise plan for trying to become the world’s leading company in the video gaming industry. First of all the company has had to resolve its video gaming console’s technical problems. The company has tried to do its best in mending Xbox 360’s problems and they eventually succeeded in creating a stable, working console. This has then established the base from which Microsoft has started to develop its further plan, which seems to have consisted out of two simple, but big and important moves.

First, Microsoft has started to release a wide inventory of video games. The industry’s observers have even said that this year’s E3 Media & Business Summit from July has been in fact Microsoft’s promoting agency. And secondly, Microsoft has started to drop its consoles’ prices.

In Australia, this move will mean a A$579.95 ($486) price for the 20GB-enabled Xbox 360 Pro system, comparing to the past price of A$649, and a A$339.95 price for the Xbox 360 Core system, comparing to the past price of A$429. This way the Core system gets at the same price as Nintendo’s Wii in Australia. So Microsoft’s latest move could be quite harmful for the rival Nintendo.
