On the eve of her husband’s inauguration as president of the United States of America, Michelle Obama accompanied her daughters, Sasha and Malia for the Kids’ Inaugural concert for military families. The event, which gathered around 14,000 people filing almost three-quarters of the Verizon Center in Washington D.C. turned out to be very impressive for the Obama girls. The crowd greeted them wildly as Mrs. Obama pumped up her audience by calling upon the nation’s youth to serve their country.
During the amazing show, she said that children were the future of the nation and that they too could find ways to serve their country, young as they are. The first lady encouraged them to volunteer in homeless centers, in visiting elderly persons or writing letters to the U.S. troops.
The Obama daughters, Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7, and the oldest Biden grandchildren, who now go to the same private school in Washington, enjoyed very much the Jonas Brothers' set as they shimmied and bounced to the pop music. Eventually the teen stars invited the girls on stage and the show went on from up there after they received permission from their mother and their Secret Service agent.
Miley Cyrus, who left her alter ego Hannah Montana at home, dedicated her hit "See You Again," to the first daughters before bringing the crowd to its feet with her hyper-energized performance. She also said that she agreed to be part of the event because she knew the Obama girls were her fans.
