Monday night, at the Kids Inaugural concert, Michelle Obama shared the stage with Miley Cyrus and the band Jonas Brothers, sending a message to young Americans to get involved in serving their country.

During the event, she told the children in the audience that the best ways for them to help the nation were to volunteer in a homeless shelter, visit an elderly person or write letters to United States troops.

Since the crowd gathered for the concert consisted mainly of military families and their children, Michelle Obama voiced her, Sasha’s, Malia’s and her husband’s gratitude towards the military families that were making a sacrifice in order to protect the nation.

Miley Cyrus, who performed her song „The Climb” for the first time at the Kids Inaugural concert, congratulated Obama’s daughters and told them that she was very proud of their father, after which she invited her own dad Billy Ray Cyrus to join her on stage.

Obama’s two daughters, Malia and Sasha, are huge fans of Miley’s Disney television show „Hannah Montana,” in which she portrays a girl leading a double life. During the day, the teenager, named Miley Stewart, is just an average school girl, while by night, she turns into famous pop singer Hannah Montana, striving to keep her identity under the wraps from everybody except close friends and family.

At the concert, the Jonas Brothers also made an appearance and managed to get all three Obama girls dancing to their tunes on stage.
