According to some long awaited news from ABC’s head of prime-time television programming, one member of the original cast who wasn’t present in the previous "Lost" season will be making a comeback in the fourth season.
While the original plan was to break the news during a fan convention on Tuesday, ABC Entertainment President Stephen McPherson revealed a day earlier that actor Harold Perrineau, who played Michael Dawson on "Lost," is rejoining the cast as the reluctant father who escaped the island in a boat with his son, Walt, after betraying fellow Flight 815 survivors to the mysterious group known as the Others.
His son on the show, played by Malcolm David Kelly, has made brief, unexpected appearances on the island since their departure at the end of the second season.
Earlier this year, "Lost" producers announced that they would end the series after three more seasons, each consisting of 16 consecutive episodes, allowing the show to conclude with a decisive finale during the 2009-2010 broadcast year.
Besides this minor slip, McPherson didn’t give out any other details regarding the next season of the show. He did however talk about ABC’s plans for a "Dancing with the Stars" spin-off, called "Dance Acts." McPherson also mentioned something about Nathan Fillion and Dana Delany who will have some appearances on "Desperate Housewives."
Regarding ABC’s medical drama, "Grey’s Anatomy," McPherson said it might not be quite as unrelenting this fall. "There was a lot of really difficult emotional stuff going on with a number of characters," McPherson said.
