World- renowned American hottie and the athlete of the
moment, Michael Phelps takes a jump from the Olympics straight to primetime
television.
As most of the stars these days are either actor/director, either actress/singer/model,
the record-breaker Phelps just won’t settle for less than a full- star status.
He will (allegedly) drop his famous LAZR Racer Speedos for a different and
less aerodynamic suit and host NBC’s Saturday Night Live 34th Season Premiere
on September 13.
As a matter of fact, NBC is all about Phelps this autumn, as
he will also be a guest on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" on
September 8 and last, but most certainly not the last of Michael, the network
picked up the broadcast rights to the 2009 World Swimming Championship which,
after the Beijing Summer Games seems like a whole show evolving around the 6'4"
golden boy.
The SNL musical guest is going to be Lil Wayne, as this past
year was, for him also, probably the best one of his career and the pair might
actually be a success, considering Phelps will also be a presenter at the MTV
Video Music Awards show from Los Angeles September 7, a little something that
will probably teach him some music-business tricks.
After keeping their fingers crossed right up to Phelps’
eighth medal, America holds tight for his first acting job, one that will
decide if the athlete stays On Air or takes a dive and keeps doing “his thing”
with the Butterflies and the Front Crawls and doing it good.
