Michael Crichton passed away Tuesday, at the age of 66, after a long struggle with cancer. Michael Crichton was a famous American author, film producer, medic and TV producer being well known for his sci-fi books and for the famous movie, Jurassic Park. His books were well appreciated by the public, as they were immensely entertaining and contained some knowledge that the reader learned without even knowing. He is most famous for his sci-fi novels from which some titles come to mind like Congo, Sphere, Jurassic Park, Rising Sun, Timeline, Prey, Next or State of Fear.

Michael Crichton was born in Chicago and spent his childhood in Roslyn, Long Island, New York, along with his sisters, Catherine and Kimberly, and his brother Douglas. Crichton graduated summa cum laude from Harvard in 1964. In 1969 he obtained a medical MD from Harvard Medical School, a profession he later abandoned for his love of sci-fi. The novels written during medical school were written under the pseudonyms John Lange or Jeffery Hudson, his novel A Case of Need being published under the name of Jeffrey Hudson.
