The world wide known rockers from Metallica will enter history when they release the next album. The famous rock band will become the first to simultaneously release their new album on "Guitar Hero".
Metallica confirmed on their web site their plans to release the album and the video game at exactly the same time. They have finished the follow-up to "St Anger", which is called "Death Magnetic".
Every song from Metallica’s "Death Magnetic" will be available for gamers to download and play on "Guitar Hero III" and its sequel "Guitar Hero World Tour" in the same day the band plans to release it to retail.
The precious piece of information was also confirmed by Microsoft during the E3 gaming conference underway in Los Angeles.
"Guitar Hero," a game dedicated to Metallica, reminiscent of the recent Aerosmith title is also in the offing. However, the day of its release is still unknown.
In the statement released on Metallica’s web site, the band said they are "psyched" by the innovation and that "Death Magnetic" will be "ready to go once “Guitar Hero: World Tour” hits retail in the fall.
"Who knows, maybe a few years from now this will be the norm when your favourite band's new record comes out", the statement wrote.
What is interesting is that Metallica’s latest album will also be available as DLC for Guitar Hero IV. This raises a few questions: if customers buy this DLC for “Guitar Hero III,” will they still need to purchase it again for IV?
"Guitar Hero," a music video game made by Harmonix Music Systems and published by RedOctane for the PlayStation 2 video game console, is the first entry in the “Guitar Hero” series. The game features a guitar-shaped controller used by the players to simulate the playing of rock music.
