The next Metal Gear Solid game has been confirmed, and no, it isn’t the MGS 5 or MGS4 port for Xbox, it’s the MSG Touch for iPhone! The teaser site recently appeared created a lot of confusion among fans, but it also gave birth to a lot of rumors.

But today Konami confirmed MSG Touch, together with other three titles, will become available progressively as of later this month. Unfortunately for Metal Solid Gear fans, this title will be the last to come out.

The first three titles to come out are DanceDanceRevolution S Lite, Frogger and SILENT HILL The Escape, expected from late December 2008 in Japan, North America and Europe. DanceDanceRevolution S Lite will only be available in Japan and North America upon release.

Metal Gear Solid Touch will be available as of spring 2009, and will be launched in Japan, North America and Europe.

MSG Touch for iPhone comes with the same characters as in Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the Patriots, and offers direct control through the touch panel. The story line is based on the story of MSG4, including each stage’s location and characters.

According to Konami, the points earned while playing the game and clearing the stages will unlock images and wallpapers from the Metal Gear series.

Konami also launched a site in Japan for iPhone and iPod, which includes playing instructions, features, prices, release dates for each game, animations, and soon to come, reviews.
