Melrose Place will most likely soon move back into prime time. It would have been a bad mistake from CW not to do this considering the fact that the show had a huge success. The good news for the Melrose Place fans was confirmed by a CW spokesperson who added that the '90s hit show will probably make its comeback as soon as next fall.
CW is currently enjoying the success of both "Gossip Girl" and "Beverly Hills 90210," but would surely be glad to revive Melrose Place and, you know how they say in the television industry: if something works, keep doing it until it doesn’t.
When asked about the reviving of Melrose Place, the show’s creator, Darren Star, said it would be a fun thing to do, TV Guide reported in conditions of exclusivity.
“I wouldn't be surprised if it happened - if it can be put together in the right way," said Star, who also created “Beverly Hills 90210.”
The rumor that Melrose Place may be resurrected has been in the air for months, but has only been recently confirmed. The decision to revive the show is most likely a consequence of the success CW had with “Beverly Hills 90210,” a success the company desperately needed and on which are now trying to build on.
The prime time soap opera ran between 1992 and 1999, and it was the second series in the “Beverly Hills 90210” franchise. The story of the show is set in a small apartment courtyard complex in LA.
