Former New Jersey Gov. Jim McGreevey's former campaign aide Teddy Pedersen said that he and the two McGreeveys engaged frequently in threesomes. Shortly after, Matos McGreevey, the estranged wife of Jim McGreevey, had sent a statement to the press in which she denied such accusations. However, in yet another turn of the story, Jim McGreevey himself has confirmed that his former aide's claims are indeed true.
"Dina is still in denial. It’s time for her to face the truth," Teddy Pedersen said to the New York Post. "If Dina wants to take a lie detector test with me, I will sit down with her any time, any place. The only reason that I spoke to the media is because she dragged me into her divorce," Pederson said.
Pederson said the three had consensual threesome sex which, interestingly enough, excluded gay sex, before Jim McGreevey became governor in 2001. The weekly trysts lasted for about two years and usually began with dinner at T.G.I. Friday’s and ended with a romp at McGreevey’s condo in Woodbridge, N.J., Pederson alleges. He also said he did not know at the time that the future governor was gay, nor did McGreevey display any direct sexual affection towards him.
Dina Matos is caught in a bitter divorce battle with her husband. She alleges in the proceedings that she was duped into believing Jim McGreevey was straight and says that Pederson is lying and pays back her husband for helping him in his career.
"She was there, she knew what was happening, she made the moves. We all did. It's disgusting to watch her play the victim card," Pederson told the Post about Dina Matos' denials.
Jim McGreevey resigned in 2004 after acknowledging that he had an affair with a male state employee, saying that he is "a gay American". The employee said that he was harassed.
