McDonalds Sued for $3M by Couple for Posting Nude Photos

McDonald's Corp., the world’s largest chain of fast food restaurants, is being taken to court by a U.S. couple who are holding the company responsible for the fact that some naked photos of the woman made it on the Internet.

The two had eaten at McDonalds and the man, Phillip Sherman, accidentally left his cell phone, which was containing nude photos of his girlfriend, at the restaurant in Fayetteville, Arkansas. After realizing, the two called the restaurant and the staff assured them that the mobile phone was still there and they could come back and recover it. The whole incident happened on the 5h of July.

However, the nude photos along with the woman’s name, address and phone number were posted on the Internet and, as a consequence, the couple had to move to a new home. Tina Sherman said that she received countless offensive calls and text messages in connection to the photos.

The Shermans are suing McDonald's Corporation, the owner of the franchise involved and the restaurant's manager, and are seeking damages of $3 million. The couple said they have suffered emotional distress and their reputations have been severely damaged. The two have also lost a part of their earnings and paid to move to another place and they want to be paid damages.
