It has been a pretty busy week for both McCain and his running mate, Sarah Palin, as the later has been interviewed a lot of times and has started a tough relationship with the ones that criticize her. For McCain things have gone a little smoother, as the senator appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and seemed very calm about not being able to win the race for the White House. The senator, made jokes and offered quite a show, making fun about his own campaign, while saying good things about both Sarah Palin and Barack Obama.

John McCain is a veteran of The Tonight Show, appearing on the show 14 times. He used this to his advantage, relying on old punchlines and older joke. McCain said that after the results of the election were made public he slept like a bay, meaning sleeping for 2 hours and then waking up to cry. He also said that the following morning he only got coffee as he already knew what was written in the newspapers. The jokes really put john McCain in a very good light, giving him an aura of maturity and experience. The fact that he was able to joke and talk so openly about his defeat really makes John McCain one of the most honorable politicians around.

This year’s political race has truly been an historical one, being very well covered by the news and showing a political campaign that was very exciting and brought many new things to the political scene.
