Men’s magazine Maxim has just released its annual list of 100 hot women, declaring model Marisa Miller, 29, “the hottest woman in the world.”

The model, who is known for her many appearances in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issues and Victoria’s Secret catalogues, "embodies the official return of the all-American supermodel," Maxim says.

It’s been a really busy year for Miller, who recently appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated. According to USA Today, she entered her seventh year as a Victoria’s Secret model and is now developing a shoe line with Vans. She is also a supporter of the Young Survival Coalition, an association that promotes breast cancer awareness among women aged between 20 and 30.

The second position of the top is occupied by Scarlett Johansson, who never fails working her charm on men, including her fiancé, Ryan Reynolds.

Johansson is closely followed by Justin Timberlake’s girlfriend, Jessica Biel. She and Timberlake have been dating for almost a year and a half now.

On the fourth spot, Maxim placed Latin beauty Eva Longoria, who got hitched last year to NBA star Tony Parker.

Surprisingly, Sarah Michelle Gellar comes in at no.5, although she has not been heard of too much lately. Well, she may have been appeared on Maxim’s cover in December 2007 as “Woman of the Year,” but that’s all…

Elisha Cuthbert is in at no.6, followed by Cuban American star Eva Mendes, who is number seven for the second year in a row. Apparently, Mendes’ visit to rehab last year didn’t cause her to lose male fans.

Ultra-tanned singer Christina Aguilera is on the eighth spot, and party-girl Lindsay Lohan, who topped last year’s list, is on the ninth position this year.

A surprise in the list is "High School Musical" star Ashley Tisdale, who joined the list at no.10.

Other celebrities included in the hot list are Charlize Theron, Rihanna and pop rocker Avril Lavigne, who decided to dump her large skater pants and become hot in dresses this year.
