In an interview for the Associated Press, Matt Damon has
shared with the world his opininon about Sarah Palin and her political role.
The movie star, who is one of the supporters of Barack
Obama, stated that he is “frightened” by Senator John McCain’s decision to
choose Sarah Palin as his running mate.
Matt Damon said that he believes that there is a good chance
that Sarah Plain
could be president. "I think there's a really good chance that Sarah Palin
could be president. I think that's the really scary thing," Damon said
during the interview. "Because I don't know anything about her. I don't
think in eight weeks I'm going to know anything about her.”
Matt Damon went further on and he said that there is a good chance
that John McCain doesn't survive his first term and “it'll be President Palin.”
“It's like a really bad Disney movie. The hockey mom. Oh,
I'm just a hockey mom from Alaska,
and she's president,” Damon said.
Sarah Palin was designated as McCain’s running mate in late
August. She was born in Idaho and her family
moved to Alaska
when she was an infant. She was the first governor of Alaska
to be born after the sparsely-populated state joined the United States
in 1959.
Palin began her political career as a member of the Wasilla
City Council in 1992, eventually becoming mayor to the town and quickly rising
as a statewide figure. She unsuccessfully ran for lieutenant governor in 2002.
Palin was appointed in 2004 to the post of ethics
commissioner of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, but later
resigned, complaining of the lack of ethics in the commission.
Palin is married to Todd and they have five children. Her
oldest son, Track, is a soldier in the US Army and is scheduled for deployment
to Iraq
in September.
Palin graduated from the University of Idaho
with a bachelor's degree in journalism.
