In an announcement posted on the Mass Effect official forum, BioWare announced a small delay for the PC version.
In the announcement, Chris Priestly, Community Coordinator explained that the game will be released in North America on May 28, instead of May 6 as initially intended. The European released date is now June 6.
“The team here at BioWare, working closely with the good folks at Demiurge Studios, has decided that a few more weeks in the studio will ensure we deliver the quality that our fans deserve. The additional time will allow us to incorporate more play-testing feedback, add extra polish and tune the additional features so that Mass Effect is a natural and outstanding PC gaming experience”, the announcement reads.
Mass Effect is an epic science-fiction action and role-playing game (RPG) experience. During the game, the players assume the role of an elite human Spectre agent, Commander Shepard, entrusted with keeping law and order in the galaxy.
Shepard uncovers a threat so great it could destroy all life in the galaxy, but her job is complicated by the fact that no one will believe the word of a human, a race not fully trusted by the other alien races. However, the galaxy must be convinced of the grave threat at hand or all life could be exterminated.
Wrought with treachery, heroism, difficult decisions and a universe filled with unique and colorful species, Mass Effect delivers a truly compelling storyline.
The Xbox 360 version was released last year in November and it has sold already somewhere around 1.6 million copies.
However, the PC version will suffer some changes and EA has released a list of the additional features. Of course, Mass Effect for the PC will have optimized and fully customizable controls and highly detailed textures, characters and environments.
Also, EA promised a new feature called Run & Gun Control, which means the players can assign biotic powers or skills to ‘hot keys’ allowing them to play Mass Effect with a heavier focus on action, a new decryption mini-game and new inventory screen GUI and functionality.
