After it was reported that Mary Kate Olsen asked immunity
from prosecution before she will cooperate with a federal investigation
regarding Heath Ledger’s death from accidental overdose, now her lawyer says
that she does not know anything about where Ledger got the drugs.
Mary Kate Olsen’s lawyer made a statement Monday,
emphasizing that his client can’t give “relevant information” to the case.
“Despite tabloid speculation, Mary-Kate Olsen had nothing
whatsoever to do with the drugs found in Heath Ledger's home or his body, and
she does not know where he obtained them,” said the statement from attorney
Michael C. Miller, according to People magazine.
This statement came after reports that said Mary Kate
Olsen wanted immunity. Miller also highlighted that Mary Kate Olsen gave all
the information she had about Heath Ledger’s death.
“Regarding the government's investigation, at Ms. Olsen's
request, we have provided the government with relevant information including
facts in the chronology of events surrounding Mr. Ledger's death and the fact
that Ms. Olsen does not know the source of the drugs Mr. Ledger consumed,” said
the statement.
The statement released by attorney Michael C. Miller
concluded: “We don't know the source of the information being quoted in the
media regarding the government's inquiry, but these descriptions are incomplete
and inaccurate.”
Drug Enforcement Administration agents are trying to find
out where Heath Ledger got the prescription drugs which led to his death on
January 22 in New York.
Mary Kate Olsen was linked to Heath Ledger’s case when the masseuse who
discovered Ledger’s body Diana Wolozin called Mary Kate Olsen before dialing
911, reported E! Online. Also, it was said that the Mary Kate Olsen and Heath
Ledger dated some time before the tragedy happened.
