In spite of the intense rumors about Madonna’s marriage with
Guy Ritchie being on the rocks, the film director said that his relationship
with his wife was fine “as far as I’m aware of” in an interview with People
magazine.
After several months of stories reporting that his 8-years
marriage to Madonna is coming to an end, Guy Ritchie finally broke the silence
and confirmed the 49-year-old singer’s denials regarding their divorce.
Furthermore, he added that the famous pop star had offered him a new
perspective upon his hometown of London.
"I live vicariously through my wife, so I was once a
spy and now I've become a tourist, and it's much more fun to live in London as a tourist than
it is as a spy," the 39-year-old director said, as quoted by People.
At present, Guy Ritchie is promoting his new movie,
"RocknRolla", while Madonna is practicing in New York for her next world tour commencing
next month. "RocknRolla" is due to open in the United States in October and portrays a London unlawful criminal
world of Russian gangsters, starring Gerard Butler as a clever street thung,
Thandie Newton, Jeremy Piven and Chris "Ludacris" Bridges.
What’s more, the British director has programmed to release
a new movie in 2010, "Sherlock Holmes", a production founded on the
adventures of the literary detective, impersonated by Robert Downey Jr.
Various reports have ciculated in the past months informing
that Madonna was involved in a romantic relationship with Yankees celebrity
Alex Rodriguez, but the singer rejected all rumors. "My husband and I are
not planning on getting a divorce," she added.
