Scott Ruffalo, a hairstylist, was found in critical condition in his apartment located in a condominium tower called the Dorchester.
"If there was a shooting, our detectives would investigate whether it was homicical, accidental or suicidal," said Beverly Hills police spokesman Lt. Tony Lee. He added that the events leading to the incident remained unclear
"We haven't pinpointed anything yet."
Mark Ruffalo, 41, an actor best known for his roles in "Zodiac," "Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind," and "You Can Count on Me," did not comment on the incident that involved his brother, who is married to a fellow hairdresser, Luzelena Ruffalo.
