Marie Osmond took everyone by surprise with her fainting spell on Monday night’s “Dancing with the Stars” but she wasn’t the dancing celebrity competitor to be kicked off this week.
Celebrity doll-maker and now competitor on ABC’s reality show “Dancing with the Stars” Marie Osmond passed out earlier this week after having performed the samba with her professional dancer partner Jonathan Roberts.
This did not stop the judges from giving the pair seven points out of ten, thus ensuring their participation on next week’s dancing competition. The same cannot be said for Mark Cuban, the billionaire owner of the Dallas Mavericks, was voted off the show Tuesday.
No bad feelings there however, as Cuban is grateful for all the new friends he has made on the show. “I've gained so many new friends,” he told the Associated Press. “I've gained such an appreciation for the effort that everybody puts in … It's just been such an amazing, amazing experience. I wouldn't have traded it for the world.”
Marie collapsed Monday night, the show cut to commercials and then continued some minutes later after she had regained consciousness. She calmly said that effort sometimes has such an effect on her. “Once in a while, that happens to me when I get winded. I stop breathing.”
The 48-year-old singer is fine now and ready for some more dancing. “Bring it on,” she said, when asked if she could dance next week.
Tuesday, she told OK! magazine: “I’m really fine. I checked my e-mail and the response has been incredibly sweet. I told Jon it makes me want to go out and kick some booty and come back really strong with the paso doble, which is a fun dance. I told him, ‘I want to be the bull and I want to kill you!’”
She also explained that she has “really bad allergies” and that “the air quality is so bad” in Los Angeles because of the ongoing wildfires.
