Nick Cannon had the unexplainable urge recently to explain that he and his wife of half a year did not engage in sexual relations before marriage. While this is somewhat interesting information, leading to somewhat interesting speculation on Mariah Carey’s moral exigencies in regard with sex, we all could have done without it.

Mariah Carey apparently feels the same way, considering her reaction to hubby’s remarks. The R&B diva said she did not understand why he had revealed such intimate details but specified that she had never forbidden him from sharing that they had not had pre-marital sex. “We were intimate but weren’t completely intimate in the biblical sense,” she candidly added.

Mariah and Nick took everyone by surprise with their whirlwind romance, marrying in late April, a mere two months after they firsts started dating. Speculation ensued when Mimi, 38, attended the TriBeCa Film Festival in April to promote her movie “Tennessee,” adorned with a nice dazzling diamond wedding ring. She was promptly rumored to be engaged to actor Nick Cannon, 28, star of MTV’s “Wild & Out.”

It wasn’t long before they had a nice little wedding in the Bahamas, with utmost discretion. Mariah had previously been married for five years to music mogul Tommy Mottola, whom she divorced in 1998.

The latest rumors surrounding the newlyweds concern a possible pregnancy, especially since Mimi slyly refused to drink a glass of champagne with Ellen DeGeneres while on her show.
