Former Vice President Walter F. Mondale endorsed Sen.
Hillary Clinton on Sunday, at the Eagle Point Lodge, Iowa.
In his opinion Clinton
is not just the only democrat that will probably win the presidential elections
but it has the best chance in bringing a real change.
Mondale said in a statement: “It just seems to me that
Hillary is most prepared to take over the presidency and suited to make the
tough decisions that we’re going to have to make in the years ahead. Hillary is
uniquely qualified to rebuild America’s
standing in the world and lead this nation from her first day in the White
House.”
Walter Mondale was President Jimmy Carter’s vice president
from 1977 to 1981 and the nominee for president of the Democrats in 1984. From
1993 to 1996 he served as US ambassador to Japan.
Although other campaigns showed that Clinton may be unelectable, Mondale is not
worried. He said that she is electable if the polls show that 5 percent of the
democrats won’t vote for her, and she is the only candidate that is ahead in
the polls of all the Republicans and the Democrats.
Mondale expressed his content regarding Clinton’s talks about health care, education
and environment. He sees in Clinton a candidate that can do more than just to
talk about it.
He said: “I think she knows Washington, she knows the Congress as well
as the White House and she’s a very strong person and she will have a good
chance of getting something done.”
Clinton is doing well
according to him, but it still depends on what the people of Iowa are going to vote on January 3.
Clinton finished her campaign
at Great River
Medical Center's
Mercy Plaza with an event, where 400 people
gathered in the lobby to hear her. She spoke about the importance of internet
connections especially in hospitals and that improved communication technology
could save the taxpayers $ 77 billon a year.
