A 21-year-old Texas man was arrested last week for trying to
cash a stolen check of $360 billion at a Chase Bank.
The bank’s tellers couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw
the 10 zeros on the check, and they immediately became suspicious.
They noticed the check was made out to “Fulla Comp and
Entertainment,” the record company Charles Ray Fuller wanted to found, NBC 5
reported.
Fuller, of Crowley, was arrested on a forgery charge, police
reported. He had apparently stolen the check from Paula Prettyman, the mother of
Fuller’s girlfriend, Andrea Greer.
Fuller said his girlfriend’s mother gave him the check to
help him start the record company, but when bank employees called Prettyman,
she said she had not given the man permission to take the check or cash it.
"I wouldn't picture him doing something that stupid, I
mean, hurting me and my family," Greer said, according to NBC 5.
"I didn't think he'd do this, something this dumb. I
think it shocked everybody that knew him," she said.
According to the Associated Press, police reported finding more
than 50 grams of marijuana, as well as a .25 caliber handgun, in Fuller’s
pocket.
