The world has gone wild and we have proofs of that every day. The latest, however, appears to be the deed of a 61-year-old man from Silver Spring who has been charged with sexually abusing an 11-year-old boy suffering from autism.
Abdul Mohamed Kudsy was hired by the family of the boy in September through Rockville-based Children Achieving Maximum Potential Inc., or Champ to help the child with social skills and to provide supervision. Autism is a disability, which typically appears during the first years of life and it affects the child’s ability to communicate and interact with others. It is estimated that one in every 150 American children have the condition, which tends to affect mostly boys. The condition is usually diagnosed after the child is two years of age.
However, Montgomery County Police say Kudsy had inappropriate contact with the boy and photographed the partially clothed boy at the child’s Bethesda home.
Kim De Jong, a co-founder of the group, said the organization “takes this kind of thing very seriously” and that she told Kudsy not to return to work.
Previously, Kudsy worked for about 12 years at Montgomery-based Community Services for Autistic Adults and Children, where “he didn’t have issues of this sort when he worked for us,” executive Director Ian Paregol said.
Kudsy faces two counts of third-degree sexual offense and one count of sexual abuse, according to District Court records. He is being held on $500,000 bond.
