Los Angeles - The mighty Cleveland Cavaliers blew into Disneyworld, and were blown out of the Magic Kingdom. Rashard Lewis scored 22 points, Dwight Howard had 20 and 11 rebounds, as the Orlando Magic sent the league-best Cavaliers to their worst loss of the season, with a dominating 116-87 victory on Friday night.
"It was a combination where we played great and they couldn't get it going," Magic coach Stan Van Gundy said. "When you have a night where everybody plays well this is what you're going to get."
Hedo Turkoglu scored 13 while Rafer Alston added 11 with 10 assists for Orlando (56-19) which won for the eighth time in the last nine games, but remained one game behind Boston for the second seed in the Eastern Conference.
"Tonight, we were able to beat them pretty good," Alston said. "It's how we came out, focused and sustained our energy. We wanted to get back to playing some inspired basketball, playing playoff basketball."
League MVP front-runner LeBron James had 26 points with nine rebounds for Cleveland (61-15) which suffered back-to-back loses for only the second this season, but its most lopsided decision since a 109-74 drubbing by Detroit on Nov. 11, 2007.
"We have a lot of pride but it was total domination at times," James said. "They executed their game plan well and embarrassed us."
After racing out to a 55-38 halftime cushion, Orlando started the second half on a 19-2 run to blow the game open. Lewis drilled consecutive three-pointers to cap the burst and the rout was on.
The lead eventually swelled to 41 and the Magic carried a 92-60 bulge into the final frame en route to the slaughter.
"Their players outworked us from the top to the bottom and we got our behinds kicked," Cavs coach Mike Brown said. "You're going to loss two, three, four games in a row, but there's a way you lose games. Tonight, we should be embarrassed with the way that we played."
