Wednesday, actor Macaulay Culkin’s sister Dakota died after
she was struck by a car in Los Angeles one day before.
Dakota Culkin is said to had been stepping out of a curb on
Los Angeles’ West Side when the vehicle hit her. She was then taken to the UCLA
Medical Center with massive head trauma, where she died of the injuries on
Wednesday afternoon.
Police spokesman Richard French has stated that a criminal
investigation was not being conducted, adding that the driver had stopped to
try and help 29-year-old Dakota.
Moreover, authorities have informed that the driver had not used
alcohol or drugs before having got behind the wheel and that they had concluded
he had not broken any laws.
Michelle Bega, Macaulay Culkin’s spokeswoman, said the woman’s
family had nothing to comment in the matter.
This tragic event adds to a series of such incidents
involving actors’ families, after Jennifer Hudson’s mother, brother and
7-year-old nephew were shot to death by her brother-in-law William Balfour and
Mark Ruffalo’s brother Scott died Monday night, one week after he had
accidentally shot himself while playing with a gun.
Star of „Home Alone” Macaulay Culkin, 28, is the third of
seven children of Patricia Brentrup and Kit Culkin, having four brothers, Shane,
Kieran, Christian and Rory, and two sisters, the late Dakota and Quinn.
Kieran, 26, and Rory, 19, are both actors, the former having
received a Golden Globe Award nomination for his role in the 2002 movie „Igby
Goes Down.”
