Lynne Spears apparently considers this a good time to publish her own little book on raising children – specifically, her two children, daughters Britney and Jamie Lynn.
Lynne Spears is mother to once-pop-princess Britney Spears, 25, and up-and-coming actress Jamie Lynn, 16. She has decided that her parenting experiencing is worth noting down on paper and publishing.
Her project already has a publisher, People.com reports: Thomas Nelson of Publishers Marketplace. The book is set to be published in spring 2008 and represents “Lynne Spears's personal story of raising high-profile children while coming from a low-profile Louisiana community,” as described by Marketplace.
This is ironic, some would say, considering Britney Spears is in the midst of a notorious struggle to keep her own too children. Married to back-up dancer turned Mr. Spears turned wannabe rapper Kevin Federline for two years, Brit Brit is currently trying to keep custody of sons Sean Preston, 2, and James Jayden, 1.
Britney and Lynne have been through some less than pleasant times, allegedly culminating with the pop singer asking her mom to keep away from the grandsons. The two only reconciled a couple of weeks ago, with Lynne and Jamie Lynn flying in Los Angeles to see Britney.
People.com reports that Thomas Nelson also publishes Bibles, inspirational (Christian) books as well as the occasional celebrity book, such as Bill Cosby’s.
The falling out between mother and daughter reportedly occurred in June, when Britney allegedly handed her mom a letter of warning. At the time, celebrity gossip site TMZ.com reported that the letter asked Lynne to stay away from her two grandsons “if she is taking any medications that would impair her ability to be around them.”
It has been reported that Britney was concerned Lynne was taking certain medication that could impair her ability to take care of the two boys. She herself had recently returned from a stint in rehab.
Regarding their reunion earlier this month, a source told People magazine at the time: “Brit really needed her mom. So Lynne flew out and they met.”
