The last episode of the fourth season of Lost answered many
questions, but there were also a lot of twists that left us wondering about
what will happen with The Island and our beloved Losties.
First of all, the main question is where The Island has
disappeared. Ben mentioned something to John Locke about Dharma’s silly
experiments and in the orientation video from the Orchid station, Dr. Edgar
Halliwax said that the station was designed to investigate “unique properties”
of the island. But there is no clue that The Island has traveled in time or in
the past. Also, is this the first time when The Island is moved? Ben says to
Locke that the one who moves The Island must leave it and never return there.
So, we can presume this isn’t the first time when The Island is moved.
Also, when the freighter explodes, Daniel Farady is driving
a boat full of people toward the beach, but there is no sign of them once the
white light that surrounded The Island has disappeared.
And speaking about the freighter and the explosion, there is
also a mystery what really happened to Jin. Did he survive the explosion or
not? Unlike Michael, who was in the same room with the bomb, Jin has made it to
the freighter’s helioport and maybe he managed to save himself from the blast.
In fact, the fate of all people who remained on The Island
will be probably explained, even what happens to The Others, who are now led by
John Locke.
Actually it seems like the life on the island and John Locke
will be the key plots of the next season. In the end of the episode we found
out that Jeremy Bentham and John Locke are one and the same person.
Jeremy Bentham has spoken with each of the six survivors
and, as Jack mentions, he said that the things went very wrong on the Island. Maybe a conflict emerged between Locke and The
Others? And how and why he is back? Are the six so important for The Island?
Also, another hint offered during “There's No Place Like
Home Part 2 and 3” regards the partnership between Sun and Charles Widmore. Apparently,
they will team up in their quest to find the new location of The Island.
From a past episode The Economist, we know that Sayid and
Ben are now partners and they are fighting to stay ahead a mysterious
character, referred as The Economist. At first it seemed like The Economist is
linked to Charles Widmore, but maybe he has something to do with Sun also.
Also, it seems like the six are divided about their return
to The Island, as Ben tells Jack that “They ALL” have to go back. In a
flash-forward, Kate dreams about Claire (by the way, what Really happened to
Claire) and she warns Kate not to bring Aaron back to the Island.
As you cans see, there are a lot of issues to be answered
and I bet that the fifth season will be at least as thrilling as the fourth
season, if not even better.
