Lohan Caused Quite A Stir In The Presidential Campaign

Barack Obama declined Lindsay Lohan’s recent offer to help out with his presidential campaign, fearing that she might not represent the actual image they were looking for.

According to a report from the Chicago Sun-Times, the Democratic presidential candidate said the actress “is not exactly the kind of high-profile star who would be a positive for us.” The paper reports that the Obama camp refused Lohan with a “thanks, but no thanks” after she offered to host a series of events targeted towards young voters. Her past behavior doesn’t seem to be Obama’s cup of tea.

But still Lohan can’t team up with the enemy either. "I really cannot bite my tongue anymore when it comes to Sarah Palin," the 22-year-old stated.

Michael Lohan, the actress’ father took the bull by the horns and told Fox's News Pop Tarts via e-mail on Wednesday night: "For Barack Obama to condemn my daughter for past indiscretions when he admitted to the exact same himself is indicative of what kind of president he would be." Michael and his famous daughter have had an ever changing relationship in recent weeks, but the man had nothing but nice words for his little one in his e-mail.

And since this current campaign needs extra spice, the McCain campaign had their own reaction regarding the incident through the gossip website. "They turned away Lindsay Lohan, but Barack Obama has friends like unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers and Tony Rezko?” Obama’s response arrived in a little while: "Glad to see they're focused on the important issues," a spokesman told TMZ.
