On Wednesday, Logitech lauched a new mouse model; the wireless laser peripheral, that goes by the name of V550 Nano, was especially designed for the Mac laptop.
It does not use Bluetooth, but the 2.4GHz wireless technology; the mouse features a small USB transmitter, storable in a compartment located inside the mouse. According to the company, two AA batteries will make it functionable for about 18 hours.
The mouse can be easily carried around as it only weighs 4.23 ounces (batteries included) and its measurements are 3.98 by 2.28 by 1.34 inches. Its price was set at $60 and upon purchase, customers will get a 3-year limited warranty.
The one thing that makes this mouse very special is its clip and go dock, with the help of which one can effortlessly attach the mouse to the laptop’s lid.
In the press release, one of Logitech’s representatives said that users won’t have to choose between grabbing the mouse or a coffee anymore, when having to move around in the office. For using the new product, Mac owners only need Mac X 10.3 or later and, of course, a USB port.
Whether or not laptop users will respond positively to Logitech’s product remains to be seen; however, it is undoubtedly a very good and innovative idea.
