Elvis Presley's daughter gave in to media pressure and confirmed she is pregnant after a week of having to deal with "slanderous and degrading stories, horribly manipulated pictures and articles in the media," the singer wrote on her blog.

On her MySpace blog, Lisa Marie Presley announced she's expecting her first child with her fourth husband, musician Michael Lockwood, firing at the media for the speculation her pregnancy caused.

"After being the target all week of slanderous and degrading stories, horribly manipulated pictures and articles in the media, I have had to show my cards and announce under the gun and under vicious personal attack that I am in fact pregnant," Presley, who has two children, daughter Riley 18, and son Benjamin, 15, from a previous relationship, wrote.

Presley goes on calling the media "a pack of coyotes circling  their prey whilst eerily howling with delight," referring to their approach "once they got a glimpse of my expanding physique."

"How they have handled themselves with this has been nothing short of irresponsible and disgusting," she added.

The pregnancy reports were initially confirmed by Lisa Marie Presley's rep who told People: "The couple are incredibly overjoyed," adding that the child is due in the fall.

Before Lockwood, Presley was married to former pop star Michael Jackson for 21 months and to actor Nicolas Cage, who filed for divorce after only three months of marriage.
