Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan has been laying low since checking out of rehab not so long ago, but she surprised listeners of Las Vegas radio station on Friday when she called in for a brief interview.
The 21-year-old actress had barely woken up before making the phone call trying to win some tickets to one of Hannah Montana’s concerts for a close friend of hers. The station was running a contest to give tickets to the listener who could get the most famous person to call.
"Yes, it’s really me," confirmed Lindsay, whose phone call won over Slash, Lee Majors and "Seinfeld’s" the Soup Nazi.
The actress discussed matters like her relationship with Riley Giles, which recently ended, her family and reunion with her dad and what she’s been up to lately, including work on a new album and her desire to visit Africa for charity work.
"I think my life is different now, and it's changed, and I'm growing up," Lindsay told the DJs – Mark and Mercedes.
"It was time to grow up. I've gone through a lot, and I'm just a different person now," she explained, later adding, "It's amazing, everything's going so well."
Regarding the stuff people read about her in the media, Lindsay said that "99 percent of it is not true," and that she’s actually doing "really, really well."
"I don’t engage [in that]. I don’t read it, because that just kind of puts other thoughts in your head and it brings you down, so I don’t play into it."
Moving on to her current and upcoming projects, the actress has been working on a new album, her third, with producer J.R. Scrotum, who was recently linked to Britney Spears.
"I’m working on my record actually," Lohan said. "I’ve been in the studio and it’s going really well. I’m really excited because it’s going to be more urban pop… It’s exciting. It’s good to be back in the studio."
Probably inspired by Paris Hilton’s plans to go on a charity trip to Rwanda, Lindsay is also trying to go to Africa "and go overseas and work with some children ‘cause I really love children and it would be nice to give back," she said.
