Lindsay Lohan To Feel The Pains Of Labor

Lindsay Lohan's career might be taking a positive turn as the young actress landed a new movie role in "Labor Pains," a big-screen comedy set to start shooting next week in Burbank, California.

The 21-year-old recovering addict, who was in rehab three times last year, will be joining great comedic actors like Chris Parnell and Cheryl Hines. The flick is a comedy about an office assistant, to be played by Lohan, who fakes a pregnancy so that her boss wouldn't fire her.

"It is a very different role for me and I look forward to the challenges it will present, and I love working on comedies," Lohan said in a statement.

Apparently, according to producer Rick Schwartz, Lohan, who hasn't been acting much since her rehab stints, has been towing the line so she can hang onto this job.

"I didn't know Lindsay before this, but we looked each other in the eye three months ago, and she has done everything I could have asked," said Schwartz.

Miss Lohan gained notoriety as a tardy star while working on 2007's "Georgia Rule," alongside Jane Fonda and Felicity Huffman, for constantly showing up late after heavy partying. She infuriated studio chief James G. Robinson with her lateness and partying that she caused him to eventually write a letter to Lohan in July 2006 attacking her lack of professionalism.

Most recently, Lohan played a small part in the season finale of ABC's dramedy "Ugly Betty."
