Lindsay Lohan Snaps Back at L.A. Police Chief's Gay Remark

Looks like Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton's gay remark struck a chord with Lindsay Lohan, who's been keeping mum about the nature of her relationship with DJ Samantha Ronson amid rife speculation the two are more than friends.

A day after LA Police Chief William Bratton said Lindsay Lohan had "gone gay" during a press conference discussing the paparazzi aggressiveness issue brought up by some of Hollywood's celebrities, Lohan fiercely replied that the police has no business getting involved in her personal life.

"Police chiefs shouldn't get involved in everyone else's business when it comes to their personal life. It's inappropriate," the 22-year-old starlet told TMZ.com. The footage shot by TMZ paparazzi team, shows Lohan and gal pal Samantha Ronson striding through the Los Angeles Airport on their way to catch a flight to Chicago.

On Friday, Bratton rejected a proposal to put stricter laws on the ways the paparazzi operate, claiming the police have much more important things to do, and the current regulations are enough.

"I figured I'd come over and straighten out. It's a total waste of time. We have sufficient laws on the books that we enforce to deal with this issue," Bratton said regarding the project issued by Dennis Zine, a Los Angeles City Councilman in response to the paparazzi's "lack of responsible behavior."

"If you notice, since Britney started wearing clothes and behaving; Paris is out of town not bothering anybody anymore, thank God, and evidently, Lindsay Lohan has gone gay, we don’t seem to have much of an issue," Bratton added. Singer John Mayer and "Heroes" star Milo Ventimiglia were also in attendance at the meeting.

Mayer said he is frequently followed late at night by cars without license plates that pursue him all the way to his house, not even stopping at red lights. Ventimiglia likened some photographers to stalkers and said he had lost confidence in current laws.

Explaining his comments later, Bratton said he made the remark speaking about his refusal to participate in a meeting held by elected officials Thursday that was called to discuss new laws to curb problem paparazzi. He also said said his sister is gay and he is a proponent of gay rights.

Despite various reports suggesting Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson are romantically involved, the actress' publicist Leslie Sloane denied that Lohan and Ronson were more than friends, but admitted they were "close."
