Another outcome of Lindsay Lohan’s two-month stay in rehab, besides getting sober, is her new romance with snowboarder Riley Giles, whom she met while at Cirque Lodge in Utah.
The two lovebirds have been spotted by paparazzi spending a lot of time together over the past several days since Lindsay has been released from rehab. In fact, Riley was seen hanging out with Lindsay’s father, Michael Lohan, as well. According to X17Online, Riley received a very warm "welcome to the family" from Michael.
"I kept seeing him [Riley] with Lindsay as well as Lindsay with her father," a source was quoted by X17Online as saying. "I think the simple life in Utah has had an energizing effect on her," the source added.
It’s not just the Utah effect on Lindsay, who decided to rent a house close to the clinic for easier access to daily outpatient counseling, it was also Riley’s impact on her, and her recovery.
"Riley is a terrific kid and a good athlete, who unfortunately got sucked in by the wrong crowd. ... He's really the most sensitive guy, not at all what you usually think a snowboarder is like. ... He did develop a bad drug habit,'' which landed him in rehab, a close friend of his told Chicago Sun-Times.
Besides going out, eating and shopping together, the two are reportedly doing yoga as well to help their focus on staying sober and away from temptations.
In her first interview since she’s free, Lindsay told In Touch Weekly about the relationship: "Yes, I am seeing someone. His name is Riley, I am really happy and taking it day by day."
As far as the other aspects of her life are concerned, the 21-year-old actress, who will start shooting a new movie "Dare to Love Me," in Los Angeles next week, is determined to stay clean by keeping away from the people who had a bad influence on her.
"Those are the ones who are around me for the wrong reasons. The people who want to go out and party, that’s not what I am about now," OK! magazine quoted her as saying.
"I am doing my best to surround myself with good people who have their hearts and minds in the right places. That’s what I plan on doing. Everything is different when you have a clear mind and focus on the right things."
Lindsay was arrested for drunk driving twice in just several months, and each time, cocaine was found in her car and or her possession. She was ordered to serve a day behind bars, 10 hours of community work, and three years probation, after pleading guilty to charges of being under the influence of cocaine and no contest to the charges of drunken driving.
