Lindsay Lohan Inaugurates New Razzie Category

Lindsay Lohan’s movie “I Know Who Killed Me” did not go well with those people handing out the Golden Raspberry Awards each year, as she managed to earn two nominations for a single role as worst actress of 2007.

“I Know Who Killed Me” leads the Razzie nominations this year, with a whopping nine nods including for worst picture of 2007, worst screenplay and worst director.

Lindsay stars as psychically connected twins, of whom one is a stripper, the other a girl form a small town who is abducted. Lindsay received the first ever double worst actress nod, individually listed for each of the two characters she portrays. She was also nominated for worst screen couple.

“I Know Who Killed Me is the most fabulously brainless movie since Showgirls,” Razzie founder John Wilson told the Associated Press. “By the end of it, you still don't know what happened. Are they twins or aren't they? Did she imagine it? Can I please have my hour and 50 minutes back?”

The 21-year-old actress was not the only one vilified by the Golden Raspberry Award Foundation.

Actor Eddie Murphy’s triple role in “Norbit” earned him multiple nominations, for worst supporting actor (as the Asian character Mr. Wong), worst supporting actress (as the 400-pound Rasputia) and worst actor (as the title character), the Razzies website specifies.

Murphy also competes alongside himself for worst screen couple and has received a nod in the worst screenplay category. Murphy thus earns five of the film’s total of eight nominations.

Other nominees are “I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry” for worst picture, with additional nods for its stars: Adam Sandler as worst actor, Kevin James as worst supporting actor, Jessica Biel as worst supporting actress and a final worst screen couple nomination ((Sandler and either James or Biel).

Biel is also nominated for her work in “Next,” while co-star Nicolas Cage is nominated for worst actor in the same movie and two others: “Ghost Rider” and “National Treasure: Book Of Secrets.”

Other critically acclaimed actors that were not spared the shame of the Razzie nomination are Diane Keaton (worst actress for “Because I Said So”), Jon Voight (worst supporting actor for 4 titles, including “Bratz”) and Cuba Gooding Jr. (worst actor for both “Daddy Day Camp” and “Norbit”).

Razzie “winners” will be announced Feb. 23, the day before the Oscars. For a complete list of the Nominations for the 28th Annual RAZZIE® Awards, go to www.razzies.com.
