Finally, we can take a deep breath and relax. We can go on with our lives now and focus our attention on world peace and global warming. It’s official: Lindsay Lohan finally admitted that she’s dating celebrity DJ Samantha Ronson. After keeping us in the dark and guessing for a long time, she spontaneously came out on Dr. Drew's syndicated radio chat show, “Loveline”, in a phone interview.
The co-host of the show, Ted Stryker asked the question casually: "You guys, you and Samantha, have been going out for how long now? Like two years, one year, five months, two months?" The equally casual answer came back and it made the world finally come to peace: "For a very long time," said the 22-year-old Mean Girl with a giggle. “Oh! I hope you guys stay together. You’re a very lovely-looking couple.” Stryker continued and Lohan replied: “Thank you very much.”
Well, what is this, if not a confirmation? The whole time the co-host of the show kept referring to Lindsay as Samantha’s “lady-friend” and asked Lindsay about “her girl’s” deejaying skills. None of them opposed the name-calling and acted like it was the most natural thing in the world.
Meanwhile, celebrity dad Michael Lohan keeps living in denial and claims there’s a side to the story that few know. He phoned the “Yo on E!” radio show and offered his own version of the truth. He is apparently stating that his daughter was tricked into saying the incriminating words for the world to hear.
"They kind of asked her if she was dating [Samantha], and Lindsay eluded that question. Then [Stryker] led into another one and kind of tricked her into saying 'a long time,' “Michael said. Daddy dearest, who refers to the British DJ and Lindsay’s gal-pal (or should we say lady-friend, now that it’s official?) as SaMANtha, keeps his firm belief that his daughter is straight and will go back to her usual self, as soon as she escapes Ronson’s bad influence.
"You don't hear about the phone calls I get at four o'clock in the morning where [Lindsay is] crying to me on the phone, and Samantha in the background saying 'Get off the phone with your father,' " he said, while Lindsay’s only reply to his allegations is a recommendation for him to take his medications.
Ever since they first started to become close, Mean Girl Lindsay Lohan and gal-pal Samantha Ronson had the hardest time proving to the world that their love thing isn’t just a publicity stunt. While the British DJ has a sporty rugged look to her, America’s favorite freckled girl always seemed to be about the guys.
The crossing over to the other team was a bit sudden and surprising and is considered not to be the best way to get over bad relationships. Usually, crying yourself to sleep and having an occasional one-too-many with the girls for a while usually gets a girl through the disappointments of heterosexual relationships.
But the girls are now closer than ever and although rumors of an eventual marriage of the two hasn’t been yet confirmed, at least they stick to their story and keep on claiming that they’re happy. So let them have it their way, at least for now.
