Coldplay's two-week reign in the Billboard chart ended this week when rapper Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter III" took over, Billboard reported.
Selling about 156,000 copies during its latest week in stores, according to Nielsen SoundScan, was enough for the rapper's sixth album to beat the incumbent No. 1 set, Coldplay's "Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends," which racked up one-week sales of about 149,000 copies. "Tha Carter III" has now sold 1.68 million in four weeks of release.
Meanwhile, The Jonas Brothers' "Camp Rock" soundtrack stayed firm in the No. 3 spot for the third consecutive week selling 116,000 copies this week only. G-Unit's sophomore set, "T.O.S. (Terminate on Sight)" (G-Unit/Interscope) took the No. 4 spot while John Mayer's "Where the Light Is: John Mayer Live in Los Angeles" secured the No. 5 spot.
Though not a new album, Kid Rock's "Rock N Roll Jesus" jumped five spots to No. 7 on 45,000 copies, bringing its 39-week tally to 1.1 million. "All Summer Long," a major crossover hit for Kid, is driving the album's upward swing.
Usher's "Here I Stand" slipped one to No. 8 with 41,000 while Rihanna's "Good Girl Gone Bad" rose one to No. 9 with 40,000. Wrapping up the Top 10 is Disturbed's "Indestructible" with 37,000 copies sold.
Other debuts this week include My Chemical Romance's live set "The Black Parade is Dead!" (Reprise, No. 22, 23,000), "High School Musical" star Vanessa Hudgens' "Identified" (Hollywood, No. 23, 22,000), Relient K's "The Bird and the Bee Sides" (Gotee, No. 25, 20,000), Los Lonely Boys' "Forgiven" (Epic, No. 26, 19,000) and Jim Jones & Byrd Gang's "M.O.B.: The Album" (Asylum, No. 29, 17,000).
