Being an actor must be very interesting. You get to have
multiple personalities without worrying that people might think you have a
disorder.
Leonardo DiCaprio is one of those lucky actors and now he
gets to impersonate Nolan Bushnell, one of the founders of the videogame
industry. Bushnell is the man who founded Atari, Inc. and the Chuck E. Cheese's
Pizza-Time Theaters chain.
According to Reuters, DiCaprio will star in and also produce
the movie “Atari.” He will play the game lover, engineering student who used to
repair broken pinball machines before he decided to start his own business in
the 70’s. Bushnell along with Ted Dabney founded Atari.
He first produced a game called Pong and, after several
years, he sold the company to Warner Communications for $28 million.
Although other producers have asked Bushnell to let them
make a movie based on his life, writers Brian Hecker and Craig Sherman were the
only ones who managed to convince him.
Along his successful career, DiCaprio has portrayed author
Tobias Wolff ("This Boy's Life"), poets Jim Carroll ("The
Basketball Diaries") and Arthur Rimbaud ("Total Eclipse"), playboy
Howard Hughes ("The Aviator") and also Frank Abagnale Jr. ("Catch Me If
You Can"). Talk about multiple personalities!
His Appian Way shingle is
going to produce “Atari.”
