Lenovo Brings IdeaCentre K210 Desktop PC To U.S.

Lenovo made a debut into the consumer desktop market “outside of China” this week with the launch of its latest creation, the IdeaCentre K210 desktop. This is the first time that the U.S. market will benefit from more than just the Lenovo notebooks.

The computer maker is not only launching a desktop PC, it’s launching a smart desktop PC, based on the Bright Vision technology that detects how far the user is from the monitor and adjusts the brightness accordingly.

This technology is directly connected to the Lenovo Bright Eye camera, which uses the VeriFace technology. This is in fact a facial recognition technology that allows users to log in by having the camera recognize their facial image.

However, not all K210 desktops sold in the U.S. come with the Lenovo Bright Eye camera. According to the company, users won’t be able to purchase the camera separately in the United States.

In addition to the amazing technologies, the K210 will also come with a microbial keyboard, which uses a special material that stops bacterial growth.

Computer keyboards are considered to be dirtier than toilets when it comes to bacteria, according to the latest research in the field. Lenovo decided to come to the aid of families where multiple people use the same keyboard and are exposed to the “keyboard germs.”

On top of all that, Lenovo’s K210 desktop also comes with the Lenovo Vantage Technology (LVT) menu, which enables an easier recovery from system crashes or viruses with the help of a special system partition that saves all critical data in the event of a system crash.

The K210 desktop comes with an Intel Core 2 Quad Processors (2.6GHz or 2.4GHz), Intel GMA 3100 Integrated Graphics and an optional upgrade to ATI Radeon 2600 XT (512MB) for PC gaming.

In addition to that, it also offers Blu-ray HD-DVD Combo or DVD Rambo for some models, high definition audio 5.1 and 19-inch or 22-inch display.

The IdeaCentre K210 has a starting price of $379 for the PC, $229 for the 19-inch monitor and $299 for the 22-inch monitor after a mail-in-rebate.
