The Beatles is one of those legendary bands that whenever spoken of, people almost use a sort of religious tone. The Beatles have released numerous hits and have created a real legend surrounding their name.

Recently, Paul McCartney announced that one of their more experimental songs, which was never released before, might just see the light of day and expose die-hard Beatles fans to more materials to enjoy.

The song is called “Carnival of Light” and it is said to last 14 minutes and is completely atypical, even for the Beatles. “Carnival of Light” is said to feature distorted electric guitars, different sound effects, a church organ and gargling sounds.

The song will feature John Lennon and McCartney singing together and saying phrases like “Barcelona” or “Are you all right?” The song was recorded in 1967 and the official reason for which it’s only released now, in 2008, is that the public wasn’t ready for such avant-garde music.

The problem with this statement is that if people enjoyed and still adore Pink Floyd’s Echoes, they must have been ready for “Carnival of Light.” It’s no secret that the Beatles were mostly addressing the mainstream crowds and maybe this song just wasn’t able to belong among their other creations.

The Beatles have recorded so many hits, that took the test of time and passed it, that anything new coming from them is welcomed. On the other hand, official platitudes about people not ready are not the Beatles way. The Beatles are about love, free spirit and honesty. That’s what their music shouts out.
