Los Angeles - Kenny Natt, who served as interim head coach for the league-worst Sacramento Kings the last four months of the regular season, was fired by the club on Thursday.
"Obviously there is disappointment there, because even with the record, everybody would like to be able to start with a fresh slate to some extent," Kings president of basketball operations Geoff Petrie said. "Unfortunately, that's not going to happen."
Sacramento also relieved Rex Kalamian, Jason Hamm, Randy Brown and Bubba Barrage of their assistant coaching duties.
After starting the season 6-18, the Kings fired head coach Reggie Theus on December 15 and promoted Natt from an assistant coaching position.
However, Natt fared even worse, guiding Sacramento to an 11-47 mark for the remainder of the season. As a result, the Kings finished rock bottom at 17-65, the worst season in franchise history.
