Last.fm Application on App Store, Targets iPhone Users

Last.fm, a site that is dedicated to music and that helps music lovers find the tracks they like, announced that it made available a free application that will allow iPhone users to stream music from the site onto their Apple device. Of course, people can download the application from Apple’s App Store.

Last.fm seems to have seen the opportunities that appeared as Apple decided to allow other companies to make software for iPhones and iPods. The application that was created by the people behind the site allows iPhone owners to have access to more than 5 million tracks from Last.fm’s library, while at the same time providing tools that people ca use to recommend tracks or see a list of events that their favorite artists attend to.

Something that can prove frustrating for some is that, like all other iPhone software, there is no way to run the Last.fm application in the background, so every time a user needs to access another iPhone application, the playback will be stopped.

But this not all the news that Last.fm has for us. It seems that the site underwent changes to its interface. The new design is more intuitive than the previous one, making it easier for users to find the music they want to listen to as well as information about the artists they like or the events that take place in the area they live in.

People who are into music streaming but would like to listen to it without having to access the site through a computer or an iPod have one more reason to love Last.fm. The site has announced that it has signed a partnership with Logitech that will bring its content to the company’s home stereo systems.
