Kubica Hopes To Race At French GP

After his horrific accident at Canadian Grand Prix, Robert Kubica hoes to compete at the French Formula One Grand Prix next week.

"I can't wait to race! But whether I am allowed to or not is down to the decision of the official doctors, who I have to see before the race in Magny-Cours," Kubica told his BMW-Sauber team's website in an interview.

Kubica was determined to race in Indianapolis, but FIA’s doctors ruled him out of race.

He was replaced in US Grand Prix by Sebastian Vettel, who finished the race in 8th place.

Kubica also said he wont’ change his driving style. "I always knew that with a single seater and open wheels an accident like this could happen. Also it can always happen again. This is the same for every driver and we are all aware of it.” Kubica said.

BMW-Sauber team boss Mario Theissen alos said he is confident Kubica will be returning in time for the French GP in two weeks' time.

"Robert will have another check-up in Magny-Cours," Theissen told his team's website. "Without wanting to pre-empt the doctors, I'm expecting it to be positive. As soon as we get the all-clear from the doctors, Robert will be straight back in the driving seat."
