Despite being voted off ABC's "Dancing with the Stars," reality star Kim Kardashian kept her cool as the results were announced, "I am totally fine ... I had the best time of my life," she said.
However, when the cameras went off, the 27-year-old rushed to the waiting arms of her family and immediately broke down into tears. "What can I say… I am obviously sad to go," Kardashian wrote on her blog the following day, "but I am more sad to not be seeing this amazing cast that really has grown so close together." Kim's elimination was on the same day as the five-year anniversary of her famous attorney father’s death. Robert Kardashian, who died in 2003 at the age of 59, represented O.J. Simpson in his murder trial.
Kim Kardashian was eliminated during Tuesday night's show after judges failed to "get behind" her rumba with last year's champ Mark Ballas.
"It was a tough day for her," Ballas was quoted by People as saying after the show, "and we talked about it, and I imagine it will always be a sad day for her. I just hope that her time on the show was magical for her, and, at the end of the day, I will always be so proud that I was the one holding her hand up there."
Still, the pair scored 17 out of 30 from the judges, and some expected Cloris Leachman or Rocco DiSpirito to be saying goodbye as they got lower marks for their performance.
Nonetheless, the TV reality beauty, who became known by starring in E!'s "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," expressed her gratitude for the wonderful experience, claiming her true personality came through on the hit show.
"This is me, without my sisters and without my family," she explained. "This was the perfect opportunity to show the real Kim. The real Kim is very shy and reserved and not outspoken and wild and crazy as everyone probably assumes.”
"I never, ever claimed to be a dancer," Kim confessed to OK! after being given the boot. "So when they were telling me I wasn’t moving, I only had a few weeks to learn all of this. But I’m walking away knowing this was the greatest experience of my life and I think God has a plan for us all and he knows when to push you and when you’ve had too much. This was a huge challenge for me."
Former *NSYNC member Lance Bass expressed his sadness over Kardashian's departure, but fortunately, he and and dancing partner Lacey Schwimmer will be around to dance a Viennese waltz next week.
Last week's top dancers, model and actress Brooke Burke and partner Derek Hough, continued to impress the judges tying the top spot with former Oakland Raiders defensive lineman Warren Sapp and his partner Kym Johnson. Both couples scored a 24 for their paso doble routines Monday, but it was Sapp and Johnson's routine that the judges wanted to see again Tuesday night.
