Kids’ Inaugural Concert Hosts Lots of Stars

The Presidential Inaugural Committee stated yesterday that stars like the Jonas Brothers or Miley Cyrus have already started to send acceptance notes for their presence at a Kids’ Inaugural Concert that will take place on Monday at Verizon Center.

Obama said that the news about Miley Cyrus performing at the event made his girls, Sasha and Malia, very happy because they enjoy the Disney Channel hit series, “Hannah Montana.” Yet, even if the event was previously announced as being a free one with tickets needed, it won’t be available for the public.

Sheila Francis, Verizon Center's publicity director, announced that the inaugural committee is the one that handles the tickets distribution and that they stated there are no tickets available for the general public. The same committee refused to make any further comments on this issue.

Yet, rumor say that mainly military families are the ones invited to the event, which will be hosted by Michelle Obama and Jill Biden. In addition, Disney Channel will air it from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Another event of such kind is to be held at an official Neighborhood Ball at the Washington Convention Center, where stars like Beyonce, Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige and Alicia Keys will perform live acts. But no information about the tickets was released either. The concert and the ball will be hosted by Barack Obama.

This event will be aired by ABC from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. and it will present the first lady’s dance together with the newly elected president of the United States. Obama stated last week that he wanted to have an event available also for the people in Washington, so he organized this one.
