Kid Rock: I Wish Pamela Much Happiness

While a guest on the "Late Show with David Letterman" on Monday, Kid Rock gave his best wishes to his ex-wife, Pamela Anderson, whom he was married for several months, and to her new husband, Rick Soloman, famous for appearing on Paris Hilton’s sex tape.

Since he was married to Anderson for just three months last year, following an on-off relationship, Kid Rock can’t avoid being questioned about his ex.

"Over the weekend, your ex-wife Pamela Anderson got married," Letterman said.

"I wish somebody would have given me the advice that I'd like to give her husband," Kid Rock said. "'Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?'"

"I wish them much happiness," the 36-year-old musician said referring to Anderson’s third marriage.

"And I think they will be," Letterman added archly.

When Letterman brought up another touchy subject for Rock, his fistfight with Tommy Lee at the MTV Video Music Awards last month, he resumed to saying he was "bullied around for so long" he was fed up with it. As Letterman asked him if he expected legal trouble as a result of what took place, Rock replied "I hope not, but [you] never can tell with this thing."

After the violent clash between the two, the Las Vegas police subsequently charged Rock with misdemeanor battery. If he had known the outcome, Rock said he would have punched Lee a lot harder.

"I don't got big guns, but I know how to throw a punch. If I knew how much press this was going get, I would've come back with a left," he told Rolling Stone magazine recently.

And contrary to what the tabloids said, the fight had nothing to do with Pamela and the fact that she and Lee were hanging out at the ceremony.

"What it boils down to is a level of disrespect for a lot of years between me and him — him towards me — and it had nothing to do with [Lee and Rock's ex-wife] Pamela [Anderson]," he said.

"He knows [that the fight was about] some pretty bad things he'd done and said to me over the years, and I always tried to take the higher ground. I was wondering why he was even there."

Apparently, Rock suggested MTV might have tried to cause the whole thing by arranging the three of them staying in the same room.

"I don't know if MTV planned it, but somebody knew what they were doing," the singer said adding that the whole thing could have been avoided. He tried to keep calm throughout the event whenever he faced Tommy Lee but the last drop came after he returned from the bathroom.

"When I came back from the bathroom, he's sitting at my table, and I just reacted," Rock explained. "I didn't say anything. I don't like talking about these things because they always lead to lawsuits. All I know is I'm not a sucker, and I wasn't raised to be disrespectful. I was raised [to believe] 'You give respect and you demand respect.' That was just coming from my heart. I just reacted."

Rock was at the VMAs to promote his first album in four years, "Rock N Roll Jesus," which is also the cause for an upcoming tour later this year.

Speaking to the Associated Press about his fresh album, he said "On this one I just feel more comfortable in my own skin than I have ever felt as an artist, songwriter, as a father, just as a human being. This is the record that everything has come together on. The songwriting has really stepped up, the playing, the singing and all those genres that I've stepped in and been like a creative chameleon. It really kind of shines in this record in a great way. I think I really nailed it on this record."
