A key witness in O.J. Simpson's current trial of kidnap and robbery got
ill on Monday while testifying. Bruce Fromong, a sports dealer, was
treated by paramedics outside the courtroom for dizziness and
overheating.
Fromong managed to testify Tuesday that, at the time of
the alleged shakedown, he was in possession of "family heirlooms" which
he felt should go to O.J.'s family. "I believed these items belonged to
Mr. Simpson's kids," said Fromong, who has been hospitalized for
multiple heart attacks over the past year. "They should go back to him."
Fromong
had testified that two of Simpson's associates carried guns and rushed
into the hotel room. During the six-minute encounter, Fromong said,
Simpson waved an arm up and down while someone yelled "put the gun
down." However Simpson never admitted this testimony to be true.
Defense
attorney Gabriel Grasso accused Bruce Fromong as he played an audio
recording that captured the alleged theft on tape. "It's not over. It's
not f-----g over. I'll have 'Inside Edition' down here for us tomorrow.
I told you I want big money," Fromong's voice is heard saying on the
recording. So it’s getting more and more complicated.
On Tuesday,
surveillance experts from the Palace Station and Palms hotels in Las
Vegas provided testimony regarding videos which showed the comings and
goings of Simpson, Riccio and dealers Bruce Fromong and Alfred
Beardsley.
The trial was to resume Wednesday with a taped
presentation by an FBI forensic audio expert whose appearance was
videotaped last month for the jury while he is traveling outside the
country.
