While Britney Spears marked her comeback after a two year old slow-down by releasing a new album, announcing an international tour and celebrating her 27th birthday with a performance in New York, her ex-husband, Kevin Federline opened up to PEOPLE magazine about his marriage to the singer and their children.
Federline, 30, who is a dancer, who married Spears in 2004, told People magazine in a rare interview he fought hard for custody of their two young sons. But he is still totally opened towards their mother and getting back together is a matter of destiny; so you never know what life might have for you.
"That's the mother of my children. Just because I'm not in love with her doesn't mean that I don't love her. I'm definitely rooting for her. There's nothing more that I want than for her to be in the best health and doing what she loves to do," Federline told People.
However Kevin Federline also said money was no object in his custody battle with Britney Spears whatsoever. But still he has long been accused of marrying Britney for her money. And he tried and failed to create a rap career for himself using her fame as a springboard.
His side of the story is that he vowed to "spend every last dime" to make sure that sons Sean Preston and Jayden James were OK. "That's all that mattered. I didn't know how much power Britney had. That really scared me," he says.
Kevin is raising their sons Preston, 3, and Jayden, 2, and he also has two kids, Kori, 6, and Kaleb, 4, with his ex-girlfriend Shar Jackson, 32.
