only one Country Music Association award, Kenny Chesney managed to take home
the top prize of the night for the third year in a row.
The musician won his fourth entertainer of the year award on

is believed to be the event’s greatest honor.
“Winning entertainer of year for the fourth time in five
years is more than this kid ever dreamed of,” Kenny Chesney declared.
George Straight also broke a record with his wins for single
(“I Saw God Today”) and album (“Troubadour”) of the year, taking his number of
awards to 22 and becoming the musician with most prizes in the history of the
CMA Awards.
Sugarland was awarded with the trophy for duo of the year,
while the band’s vocalist, Jennifer Nettles, won song of the year for “Stay.”
The 42nd annual CMA Awards show held at the Sommet Center
in Nashville
was hosted by Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley and included an unexpected
appearance by rapper Lil Wayne and country star Shania Twain.
The ex “American Idol” winner won the best female vocalist
award for the third year in a row, while Brad Paisley won video of the year.
The night included performances by Kid Rock, Taylor Swift,
