Actor Keanu Reeves apparently caused “great mental, physical and nervous pain and suffering” to a paparazzo earlier this year when he allegedly hit the man with his car.
Brazilian paparazzo Alison Silva filed a lawsuit against Keanu Reeves Monday, claiming that he was seriously injured in March, when the actor pulled out of a parking space and allegedly knocked the man down in the process.
While Silva was probably there running around after Reeves in the first place, this does not stop him from considering himself wronged. He says the incident that occurred on March 19 in the parking lot of a Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., clinic caused “serious injuries to body and severe shock and injuries to the nervous system and person, all of which injuries have caused and continue to cause Plaintiff great mental, physical and nervous pain and suffering,” reports E! Online.
Silva states his car was likewise damaged by the “Matrix” actor, although at the time of the incident police only confirmed some injury to the photographer – he was “grazed” by Reeves’ car – while there was no mention of another vehicle, E! Online notes.
Reeves himself was driving a 1996 Porsche 911.
No criminal charges were filed at the time. Silva reportedly required medical attention and was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital. Reeves suffered no harm.
Silva now claims that the injuries have incapacitated him, hindering his previous earning abilities. He seeks undisclosed damages.
According to the Associated Press, an attorney for Reeves said in March that Silva was blocking Reeves’ way and that if there was a collision, it was not hard enough to injure him.
It was only last week that somewhat similar news surfaced about an alleged altercation between a paparazzo and “James Bond” actor Pierce Brosnan. Brosnan was leaving a restaurant in Malibu with his young son when a photographer reportedly approached him, complimented him on his movies and busied himself taking pictures of the star.
While Brosnan curtly told him to find something else to do (he was quoted in the media as saying “Why don't you f*** off, mate!”) he eventually punched the man. The photographer apparently found it appropriate to hit Brosnan back. Last week, it was reported that the actor was being investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for hitting the paparazzo.
